Yeah I went all the way across the country and never even left the damn
hotel.

I spent the last two days at work so my impressions of the Farscape Con
are a little late.

I took notes and every thing.

I and the Mr arose at dawn (5 am!) As we were rushing around in befuddled
chaos the puppy leaped at R and his cup of coffee went flying .
Literally , coffee on the ceiling , walls and floor. After a frenzied clean up and shirt change we were off.

The flight was as smooth as could be , and we hit the LA freeways at 10am pt.
We made it to Burbank Hilton in less than an hour. I threw all my stuff in the room and
rushed over to the center. I was intrigued by the small number of attendees. Coming from my Dragoncon experience it was nice to be able to chill and actually take it all in.

I was looking for names and faces I recognized. I had made a list of folks from LJ
and was looking to meet them all. Out of the 21 I listed I managed 15. I'm sure I saw
all the others in passing. In fact it was running theme of my weekend. Have you seen ( insert name here) ?

kernzelda can vouch for this as I bugged her enough! I think I ran into some of you in the hall. But events have become hazy.

Loved Ricky Manning. He is the bestest show producer evah! His talk was interesting .And when he said that if we wanted him he would be in the bar , he really meant it .
I was forced out of the hall during the trivia contest by my intense need for food. ( Hey I was running on only 3 hrs sleep.) Made it back for the Making of P K wars film , it was really funny .I can't wait to see it on the DVD. Enjoyed Bianca Chiminello. Asked a question looking to elicit a funny story and was only marginally successful. Was just as impressed with Wayne as ever. He is not only a highly skilled actor but a very articulate one as well.

In the back of my mind this whole afternoon was one question ? Was

scorpy808going to make it ? Would she like the coat? Many of you have heard the story so I won't repeat it here. But during Wayne's talk my cell phone ran. It was scorpy ! I crouched down in the floor trying to hear her over the noise in the seats. The result was I made arrangements to deliver the the item in question. I was soooooo glad when I actually saw her wearing it.

I then made my way to dinner with a friend from Atlanta , and afterwards the bar. There I found the mother lode of Lj friends.

After a short rest in the room , back to the hall just in time to catch the last song
from Signal Room. But they came back for the encore and I took some fuzzy
photos. I tried to make through the showing the PK wars but only lasted about an hour.

And so to bed.

On Saturday I left the room a little too early and found myself waiting in line to get into the hall. There I met and talked with

stlscaper. She's a very pulled together and lovely lady. I had a good chance to see the arrivals from the parking lot , many of which were in costume.
I began to waver in my decision to avoid the costume parade.

I was really looking forward to seeing Brian Henson. And he did not disappoint me. He has a true joy in his work. It 's great to see and adds to it 's quality , I think.
I was fascinated when he mentioned his childhood.
David Franklin is really a kid , isn't he ? He knows how to have a good time and in doing so gives us one. I sadly confess that I ducked out of the frellys. I was flagging here and need a break.

I ran into scorpy's hubby M in the lobby. He's a wild thing ! But so cute.
He filled me in in the goings on in the VIP room . I was a wee bit jealous

I saw the fanfic panel, How could I not? This was my first time to set eyes on

thassalia.
Damn, she's a tall and good looking gal! She and

kazbaby1 were both very poised and quite professional. Impressive ! Gigi was delightful, as was Anthony. I know you can get detailed accounts of their talks elsewhere.

Once I made it back to my seat I found that four other people in my row were also going to be in contest. This made me feel a little better.

Finally the auction ended and Francesca Buller came on. I had heard that she was fun. And she was. But she is also beyond adorable. And fast on her feet, she plowed through her questions at warp speed. I most appreciated her account of the Ankha costume parts.

Then we were up. As we stood in line at the side of the stage we got a unique perspective on the rest of the competition. It was fun to work out our nerves together. Because we waited , and waited and waited some more. But we did get to pass some time by posing together. It looked , to me, like a sea of flash bulbs.
It was unnerving and exciting at the same time.

We got a close up view of the talent contest. Some were excellent . Musicalgal did am amazing song that she wrote to the tune of "If I Were a Rich Man" that brought down the house. And

kazbaby1 was fierce! The less said about certain others the better.

Most of the rest is a blur. I know I got ON the stage but I have no idea how I got off it.I don't know if any one clapped for me. I know I looked at the judges. And I'm pretty sure they looked at me. In no time we were called up for the group photos and it was over.
I was peeling out of the coat as soon as my feet hit the stage steps.
