Dispatches from the Xmas lands
Dec. 12th, 2006 10:46 pmWe are 3 weeks into Christmas Carol and all is well.
No one has been out sick , although it is a near thing.
I am among the many who feel the pre sickness fatigue
coming on.
At home I have finally put up the rest the
decorations and begun the flurry of gift buying.
All the out of town folk are getting gift cards this year.
The hubby and I have agreed on a mutual gift for ourselves
this time. Since it will not even arrive until after Christmas
we will be reduced to wrapping stocking stuffers for
something to put under our teeny tiny tree.
But we will be spending a couple of days in New York on the
last week of the year, so all the holiday indulging will be done there.
I am taking my camera to work these days and behind the cut you will
a couple of "artistic ' shots of our humble abode in the costume shop.

These just looked cool. They are the canvas wig blocks that
the wigs are kept and made on.

To the are left shoe making supplies, on the right hat making blocks.
This is only ONE section of one wall of the craft masters room. She has her
own magic domain back there.
As I was walking the pup this evening, I was startled by this rush of wings.
Across the street I saw a crane flying low over a house.
It was at least 3 feet tall , with the classic spindly legs and long curved neck.
I have never seen one this far inland before. It was smoke grey.
I watched it fly from one roof to roof for about four houses before it took off
across the neighborhood. Amazing!
