I have been gone too long....

I have been away. Both literally and figuratively.
I was traveling for most of last week. I and the husband
went to New York. He on business , me not. We stayed at our usual
hotel and I hit my standard shopping places.
We saw a great production of "The Rivals" .
I did not realize till I opened the program that I knew and had worked
with two members of the cast ! So I enjoyed it even more.
But the most rewarding part of the trip was seeing my oldest friend.
He and I been fast friends since we clapped eyes on each other at age
13. He is the only one who has known me that long outside of my family .
It's very amusing to both of us to be this old and so unchanged.
I find that the longer that I am away from work the more I sink into
a sort of nether world. I forget what day it is. This is not helped by the fact
that the husband is an ocean away again. I look up from the computer or book to see that it's 4:30 AM ! It shows me that I really need structure in my days. I just don't even feel the hours at all. Rather scary.
It's a good thing I go back to the grind next week .
I have watched Battle Star Galactica ( and other things )
Okay I have made an effort to up hold my sci fi geek membership
and turned into the Friday night lineup on THE network.
I'm liking it . Not over the moon in lurve or any thing , but entertained.
The SG-1 s are not deep , and sorta fun. I lean more toward the Atlantis
one. I find the actors more appealing. It's all more than a little
predictable . But it's been so long since I watched a space saga that I
find it easy to just slip back into it.
Now Battlestar Galactica is quite a different thing. It's got actual story telling
on it's side. The characters are mostly strong and fleshed out.
The visuals are beautiful. So I find myself getting sucked in.
Not head over heels just yet, but very intrigued.
I must confess that my personal favorite so far is Baltar.
He is a complete blast! I feel that he will leave the most chaos in
his wake and that attracts me.
I publicly apologize to every one that I haven't corresponded with
for the past 8 days or so. There is a on going health issue in the family
that has taken up lots of time. I can't get into all that yet.
But events will all be explained in time.
Meanwhile, I must see what the hell the dogs are barking at.
